Yesterday, we lost the eminent American educational philosopher, author, social activist and teacher, Professor Maxine Greene (Emerita). This is a 3 minute excerpt of the 12 minute interview I enjoyed with Prof. Greene, Ph.D. She became one of the most popular educators at Columbia University and around the country for a reason. The forthright views and eloquent lectures made her an instrumental thinker in the field of educational philosophy. She authored several books. Noteworthy was her recent ‘Variations on a Blue Guitar’ which is comprised of a selection of her talks from the summer lecture series given jointly by Columbia University Teachers College and the Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education, where she was been the Philosopher-in-Residence for over 30 years.
